A small bowl turned from bog oak, with a low, shallow form and a deep, almost black tone. Bog oak is ancient timber preserved in peat bogs for hundreds or even thousands of years, which slowly darkens the wood and gives it its distinctive colour.
The grain is still visible beneath the darker surface, with fine lines moving across the bowl as the light catches it. One area of the rim carries a small natural void, left in place as part of the timber rather than filled or removed.
Turned by hand in a small garden workshop and finished with a food-safe oil and wax blend.
Approx. 12 cm diameter x 3 cm height.
