A small side dish turned from oak, with a shallow form and a clean, simple profile. The walls are kept fairly straight with a soft curve into the centre.
Oak has a distinctive grain that runs clearly across the surface, and in this piece it forms tight lines that ripple gently through the dish. It’s a timber that wears well with use, slowly developing a deeper tone over time.
The size makes it useful for small things around the table - salt, olives, nuts, or similar. It also sits comfortably on a desk or bedside table for the bits and pieces that tend to gather there.
Turned by hand in a small garden workshop and finished with a food-safe oil and wax blend.

Solid oak, turned into a simple, functional form. A shallow lip around the edge helps catch drips without adding unnecessary detail.
Oak has a naturally open grain, so each piece comes out slightly different. Some are more even, others show a bit more movement. The variation is part of the material rather than something to control.

Oak has a clear, textured grain that shows well in smaller pieces like this. Fine lines run across the surface and shift slightly depending on how the light falls. Giving the dish a bit of subtle movement.
Its shallow size makes it easy to keep within reach - on a kitchen counter, dining table, or desk. It works naturally for small servings or for the everyday things that need a place to land.
