I’m James, the maker behind One Eyed Woodworker. I hand-turn wooden pieces inspired by the Pentland Hills, each designed to bring a touch of nature into your home.
I make in small batches, so join the list to get a monthly update when new items are added to the shop — and a peek at what’s been on the lathe.
A small oak dish with a low, open form. The shape is kept simple, with a gentle hollow through the centre.
Oak has a clear, textured grain that shows well in smaller pieces like this. Fine lines run across the surface and shift slightly depending on how the light falls. Giving the dish a bit of subtle movement.
Its shallow size makes it easy to keep within reach - on a kitchen counter, dining table, or desk. It works naturally for small servings or for the everyday things that need a place to land.
Turned by hand in a small garden workshop from British oak and finished with a food-safe oil and wax blend.
Approx. 13 cm diameter x 3 cm height.
