Spalted Beech Medium Bowl

£60.00
Only 1 available

A bowl turned from spalted beech, where the timber carries dark lines and markings created naturally as the wood begins to break down. These fine black lines and darker patches run through the surface, giving each area of the bowl a slightly different character.

The form is fairly tall with a rounded base and gently narrowing rim, giving it a steady, balanced feel. The spalting sits mostly through the lower half of the bowl, contrasting with the lighter beech above and making the grain patterns more visible.

Beech takes a smooth finish, and the surface has been kept simple so the natural patterns remain the main focus. No two pieces of spalted timber are the same, and the markings here come directly from how the wood developed.

Turned by hand in a small garden workshop and finished with a food-safe oil and wax blend.

Approx. 15.5 cm diameter x 10 cm height.

  • Size: 15.5cm x 10cm (approx.)

  • This bowl has been finished with a food safe hard wax/oil blend

  • As this bowl is recommended primarily for decorative use, I suggest dusting it with a soft, dry cloth to maintain its natural beauty.

If necessary, gently handwash with mild soap and water, but avoid submerging the bowl or placing it in a dishwasher. This may damage the unique spalted beech wood.
